Silent Film Stars: Looking Great Without Saying A Word.

Since there’s going to be a whole ton of ink expended on the red carpet styles during tonight’s Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles, now seemed like as good a time as any to highlight this Guardian retrospective on the best in silent film style.

That’s star Louise Brooks who starred in the 1929 classic “Pandora’s Box.” Dig the timeless flapper’s bob.

It’s pretty amazing to think about the limitations that these actors worked under. Without sound, they had to convey all the energy and emotion it takes to make a movie come to life. But they had to do it without uttering a word. Pretty amazing, if you ask me.
